Beethoven Festival Orchestra

Director / Cinematographer / Editor: Chuck Gomez
Writer: Cesare Civetta

This piece was an experimentation with camera movement, minimal lighting equipment, and interesting content. Since, the actual lecture was not rehearsed I felt I did a decent job following his actions and anticipating Cesare’s next move. My determination is too utilize these You Tube classical video lectures as venues to rehearse and practice my single camera story-telling technique. As, you witnessed I have a ways to go to be considered “rock solid” as a strong single camera story teller. Well.. actually… this project doesn’t really convey any such story… LOL. Who knows… I love shooting. Thank you.

Below is are a collection of raw (non color corrected) clips  of a scene we shot in Long Island in 2010 shooting with the Canon 5D and a set of Zeiss Still lenses. The scene really need allot of color correction to tone down the lighting effects, yet over all I was pretty happy with the results. As, I look back on these collection of shots I should not be afraid of casting unwanted harsh shadows.
